According to ZDNet, Microsoft has updated its Home Use Program (HUP) offerings. The company now only allows customers to have Office 365 subscriptions. HUP is a model that allows Software Assurance customers and companies with over 2,000 employees get Office 365 as a reduced price for use in their home. “Microsoft is updating the Home Use Program to offer discounts on the latest and most up to date products such as Office 365, which is always up to date with premium versions of Office apps across all your devices. Office Professional Plus 2019 and Office Home and Business 2019 are no longer available as Home Use Program offers.”  Perpetual licenses were previously offered but now only subscription versions are available. On the Home Use Program website, Microsoft says HUP is still focused on reducing the cost of Office 365.

Indeed, subscription are available at a 30% discount, with Office 365 Home costing $69.99 and Personal available for $48.99 per year. “If you have already purchased Office Professional Plus 2019 or Office Home & Business 2019 at a discount through the Home Use Program you will still be eligible for the Office 365 Home Use Program offer.”
