SwiftKey now has a new toolbar on the Android application. Users can add or remove this toolbar with a simple + sign toggle button on the top left corners. When started, the toolbar supplies a row of icons above the keyboard with several new features. Among them is a GIF integration ability that is powered by Giphy. Users can quickly search and include animations and GIFs in conversations. Several apps like WhatsApp have this sort of ability, but SwiftKey means you can access GIFs more quickly. Stickers are also available in SwiftKey 7.0. It is possible to download packs from within the app and integrate them into conversations seamlessly. Microsoft says the sticker packs are free and can be customized with individual messages. It is also possible to pin stickers for faster use next time and to help find an single image in a large pack. Photos can also be converted into stickers. Another new feature on SwitfKey for Android is calendar support and smoother access to the clipboard.
Virtual Keyboard
Microsoft acquired SwiftKey early in 2016 for $250 million, and said at the time “We’ll continue to develop SwiftKey’s market-leading keyboard apps for Android and iOS as well as explore scenarios for the integration of the core technology across the breadth of our product and services portfolio.” SwiftKey is now Microsoft’s core virtual keyboard experience after the company killed Word Flow. Microsoft Garage said the powerful Word Flow app was an experiment that was completed. Some of the features moved to SwiftKey upon its closure. As mentioned, the virtual pad was very good, with features such as one-hand typing.
