Looking at the UI, Windows 10 Calculator now has two dedicated buttons with functions and trigonometry. In terms of the latter, the trig dedicated button has functions such as cos, sin, cot, and tan. For functions, users can select between six options. HTNovo reports the new Calculator experience is now in testing on the Windows 10 19H2 preview branch. This is the second-half 2019 Windows 10 release that will arrive soon. Microsoft has not put a firm date on the release of 19H2, but we expect it next month. Back on the Windows 10 Calculator, the app has been bumped to version 10.1909.1.0.
Recent Calculator Updates
Microsoft open sourced the Calculator app on GitHub to help bring more features to the tool. The company published the app under the MIT License with the build system, unit tests, product roadmap, and the source code. The company says development is the same as any normal GitHub flow. Microsoft rolled out a new graphing tool for the app, a feature suggested by company developer Dave Grochocki. In the summer, Microsoft discussed a new always on top feature for the app. As the name suggests, this ability will place the Calculator on top of other apps and keep it there. Of course, this is a useful capability for users who are switching between apps but need the calculator on their workspace.
